The Rare Barrel Guava Chameleon

What the brewers say

Mixed-culture IPA aged in oak barrels with guava, dry hopped with Mosaic.

What our panel thought

Pleasant, quirky aroma—citrus-pine hops working well with healthy funk—with lighter dank notes. Flavor brings pronounced peach, bright lemon, apricot, passion fruit, soft malt sweetness, and light acidity that accentuates the barnyard funk. Lively, odd, and compelling.

What our editors thought

Thick tropical guava on the nose, with a touch of herbal brightness and a fruit-flesh overripeness. In the sip, moderate acidity pushes the line to the edge. Spritzy tropical fruit keeps it light, while light wood grounds it. Unexpected and compelling.
