What the brewers say

“Mosaic Incognito, Citra Incognito, Citra Cryo, Mosaic T90, Columbus Cryo.”

What our panel thought

“The contrast between the understated nose and more expressive flavor is a bit disconcerting, but worth it for the flavor. The initial come-on seems shy, offering a brush of dank citrus, but the flavor explodes by contrast, with orange-tangerine, papaya, and berry/cherry esters. Firm bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Bits of yuzu, red grape, linen, and grapefruit on the nose with a defined floral edge. Pithy tropical bitterness with light and playful fruit notes in the flavor.”

Southern Grist Brewing Company [Insert Juicy Pun]

“A nice hop funk in the best way. Dank sulfur diesel notes on top of low orange. Smooth body and flavor with more orange than diesel. A bit sweet, but enough bitterness to balance. Very full mouthfeel.”

Burial Beer Co The Comfort And Beauty of the Deliberately Austere Double India Pale Ale

“Lime, lemon pith lead the nose. Pineapple, mango, kiwi make an appearance. Sweet tropical fruit, pineapple, orange, and a hint of banana linger into the medium finish. Balance goes toward bitterness. Fairly classic. Works well.”

Unsung Brewing Company Let it In

“Loads of garlic, onion, and green pepper burst out of the aroma with some undertones of pine and light dankness. Citrus, melon, pine, and dank bring back San Diego memories. A brief, initial malty sweetness is quickly cut by the piney, citrus, and onion-like bitterness, which leads to a lightly bitter and mouth-coating finish.”
