180,000: Feet that sixteen strains of Ninkasi Brewing Company’s yeast, along with some of legendary Don Younger’s ashes, were launched into space. “We are sending yeast into space to see how it will react, and if [it is] successful [we’ll] brew some beer with it,” Jamie Floyd told OregonLive before the launch.

3,755: Cigarette butts that 144 representatives of Karl Strauss Brewery and the Surfrider Foundation picked up off the coast in San Diego at the 4th Annual Surfrider Beach Clean-Up. In total, the volunteers removed 278 pounds of trash from the beach that day.

100: Hours that were spent assembling spacers inside of the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America collaboration 12-pack. There are ten bottled beers and two cans that needed to be divided.

3,040: Breweries that are operating in the United States as of June 30, 2014, according to midyear data released by the Brewers Association (BA). Small and independent craft breweries comprise 99 percent of that number.

10.6: Million barrels of beer sold by craft brewers from January to June 2014. That number, also reported by the Brewers Association, represents an 18 percent increase in volume of craft beer production.

25: Million dollars that Stone Brewing has initially invested in building a brewery and destination restaurant in Berlin, Germany, in late 2015 or early 2016.
