From the award-winning Cervecería Hércules in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico, we share the recipe for a warm-weather quaffer that production manager Josh Brengle describes as “an ultra-crushable summer ale with notes of citrus, flowers, and biscuit.” While this recipe hails from Mexico and is British-inspired, it features an intriguingly global mix of American, British, German, and New Zealand hops.

This beer’s name honors Micah True, the Colorado-born, ultra-long-distance runner featured in Christopher McDougall’s book Born to Run. True helped resuscitate and bring attention to the running culture of the Tarahumara people in northwestern Mexico.

This British-inspired golden ale meant for summertime should taste great if kegged, canned, or bottled, but Brengle recommends cask-conditioning if possible.
