BKS Artisan Ales Simplicity & Patience

What the brewers say

“Dry-hopped pilsner with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, and Hallertau Blanc hops.”

What our panel thought

“A wild ride around the gamut of New World hop flavors—stone fruit, tobacco, strawberry. The creativity is compelling, but the intensity masks the underlying pilsner character. Fairly bitter, great hop complexity persists through the swallow. Clean fermentation profile and nice dry finish. Certainly unique.”

What our editors thought

“Sweaty tropical green fruit with crisp and phenolic tropical floral notes—decidedly ‘modern.’ Vivid, bold, and dry, with a domineering pepper note in the flavor.”

BKS Artisan Ales Meyer Kölsch-Style Ale

“Floral, herbal, citrus-hop bouquet on the nose. More floral, potpourri hop flavors dominate. A Champagne-like impression on the tongue. Dialed-back bitterness lets the hop flavor shine. Crisp finish, with a hint of light grain, a touch of yeast acidity. A creative, modern take on the style.”

BKS Artisan Ales Rockhill & Locust

Brilliant amber-ruby in color with an off white head. Rich cherry laces with sweet caramel malt notes in the nose. Light bitterness, with very low hop flavor. Chocolate comes across almost milky in the taste, accentuated by a creamy mouthfeel. Toasted caramel notes, light astringency, medium finish, boosted by medium plus carbonation. A malt lover's dream, almost decadent in nature but easy to drink and even easier to enjoy.

BKS Artisan Ales Chur Thing

“Sticky and dank slap you up front, but as you sit with it, papaya and mango are there, too. Velvety mouthfeel and a touch of sweetness work well with the beautifully constructed hop profile.”
