What the brewers say

“Brewed with German extra-pale pils malt and dry hopped adoringly with Czech Kazbek.”

What our panel thought

“Great aroma: clean, lemon-thyme driven. Flavor doesn’t live up to it; malt character almost vanished, save for a touch of pita cracker. Bitter and nondescript. Malt and hop flavor need to be turned up a few notches. Not bad beer, but could be great if amped up a little.”

What our editors thought

“Heady lilac floral note fills the glass. The sip tames it down with soft, slightly grainy sweetness, against unyielding bitterness. Edgy, as the disparate elements maintain tension through the end.”

BlackStack Brewing Fugazi

“Spicy, green hops dominate the aroma with hints of fruit leaning toward strawberry. Full, malty body with a tinge of sweetness. Hopping is more fruity, even going slightly tropical. Bold hop bitterness lingers into the fruity finish.”

Halfway Crooks Beer Zero Cool

“Bright lemon, candied lemon, rosemary notes in the aroma. Smooth, crisp flavor, with lemon zest and lemon flesh dominating a low bread backbone. Rosemary notes show up later and linger into a lemony herbal finish.”

Green Cheek Beer Swim Test

Ripe orange, lemon, grapefruit, and intense dankness melding with alcohol for a complex aroma with spicy, pepper-like kick. Chewy sweetness tempers the bitterness, drying out enough to avoid cloying.
