What the brewers say

“An Italian-style keller pils. Made with a custom pilsner malt from Riverbend Malt House and hopped and dry hopped with Czech Saaz. Lagered for five weeks. Noble-hop spice and herbal flavors and aromas dominate with cracker and low biscuit notes supporting. Dry with a pronounced bitterness.”

What our panel thought

“Pretty bubbles, aggressively climbing in a pale-yellow beer, great lacing. Spicy, lavender-floral-type hop flavor works really well with the sweet malt. Just dry enough, really plays off the hops well. This is a pleasant beer I can imagine pairing well with an appetizer, such as a bruschetta.”

What our editors thought

“Bright calla-lily floral notes underpinned by doughy, bready malt in equal parts. Flavorwise, an herbal and floral hop bitterness hits first, tempered by mid-sweet pilsner malt notes as that initial bitterness fades. Rich and savory despite its overall lightness; a delightful sip.”

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co Industry Pils

Light sulfur note complements the classic Noble hops—lightly toasted white bread in the background—creating a familiar and enjoyable nose. Light, crisp, clean body. Hop flavor is slightly too conservative, but the bitterness provides a foundation to hold through the finish. Crazy drinkable. Before you know it, you're ordering a second, or perhaps third...

Twin Barns Brewing Company Itssamee! Italian Pilsner

“Grands Biscuit aroma with some white pepper and floral hop notes. Flavor is slightly grainy with hints of lilac and honeysuckle that linger into a long floral finish. Bitterness is a bit low for a pils, but still enjoyable.”

Firestone Walker Brewing Co STiVO

“Pale yellow in color, unfiltered, with a nice bright white head that lingers. Bright floral hop aroma with a touch of dank in the background. Pleasant soft citrus in both the aroma and flavor is tempered by a moderate and very clean bitterness. A lifting herbal and light melon citrus hop flavor builds, but just when it’s about to reach the upper limit, it lets off the gas and the grainy malt starts to come into balance. Slightly minerally, with a clean, dry finish. Overall, a very fresh and soft quality with a quick and clean finish. Well-crafted with no flaws. Aggressive without hitting the limit.”
