What the brewers say

"With aromas of fresh flowers and honey, we've managed to fit the Pacific Northwest into each bottle."

What our panel thought

"Soapy, floral, and slightly citrus hops dominate the aroma offering a hops- forward yet complex beer, then the cracker and biscuit malty sweetness shows up at first sip. The bitterness that cuts through is a bit more muted and nondescript, and the moderate carbonation level gives the perception of a bit of heaviness."

What our editors thought

"Classic noble-hops nose is reassuring and comforting. The body is light and bright with a weightless feel that heightens the drinkability. Dangerously compelling."

pFriem Family Brewers Pilsner

Gentle but distinct floral-herbal hop nose marries sweet cracker-malt and a welcome whiff of sulfur. Lightly bready malt body amply supports perfume-like hop flavor and an ambitious but refined bitterness, all the way to a dry finish. Bold bitterness lingers. Hand me a full liter.

Goldfinger Brewing Company Pils

“Great clarity, fluffy white head. A touch of bready yeast on the nose; fresh hops, floral and herbal, a bit of sulfur. Firm, pleasantly bitter backbone, moderately grainy with an herbal, slightly spicy hop profile. Mild carbonation, light malt body. Well balanced. The dry, bitter, refreshing finish lingers.”

**Aroma:** “A sulfury matchstick note hits up front, but is nicely balanced by the Pilsner maltiness and flowery hops. A subtle but unique herbal, earthy hops character, as well as some floral hops notes.” **Flavor:** “A nice delicate biscuit sweetness that gives way to a floral, herbal, and citrus hops flavor. The hops hit in the middle and provide some complexity and bitterness. Nice carbonation that ends with a clean, dry finish.” **Overall:** “Clean and refreshing, a very enjoyable light Pilsner. Great hops complexity with sweet malt in the back. Impressive balance, and super quaffable.”
