Transient Artisan Ales A La Carte Reality

What the brewers say

"Double IPA with Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado."

What our panel thought

"Curiously inviting aroma: moderate lemon-lime, like lemon drop candy; black tea, woody notes, stone fruit, pine. Light malt backbone, caramel and biscuit tempering bitterness and softening edges. Lime hop flavor, lime zest undertones, with lemon, pine, green pepper, spicy garlic. Smooth, not too bitter. Unusual, interesting, enjoyable."

What our editors thought

"A woodsy forest note collides with soft peach and cut grass. The sip is sweet but not cloying, with more stone-fruit flavor balanced by woody bitterness."

Alvarado Street Brewery Riwaka, Baby!

“Muted aroma with slight fruity hop notes and a low counterpoint of toasty malt. Flavor has a slight cinnamon note on top of the medium citrus and a malt presence that provides balance. Nice roundness to the mouthfeel. Medium bitterness.”

Aurora Super Fresh to Death

Competing aromatics of citrus—grapefruit, lemon, lime, tangerine—and dank, earthy, vegetal notes of onion, garlic, green and black pepper, and pine. Nostalgically West Coast. Suitably balanced in flavor, but finish carries an astringent grassy bitterness. Soft mouthfeel.

North Park Beer Co. Inversion of Time

“Dank-forward aromatics with sweet tropical-fruit undertones. In the sip, a supportive dose of pine and booze to balance. Some sweet heat stays fairly well-hidden. Maintains balance thanks to a supportive malt structure and soft mouthfeel.”
