Jack's Abby Craft Lagers Copper Legend

What the brewers say

“Celebrate Octoberfest with this malty, smooth, and exceedingly drinkable lager. Copper Legend is the perfect beer for creating legendary times with legendary people. Raise a can to honor today’s legends. Brewed with Noble hops. Prost!”

What our panel thought

“The subdued nose is pleasant—light caramel, light toasted bread, some black-tea herbal notes. The light doughy aroma is unassuming, but the first sip makes a stronger impression—a wash of crusty French-bread malt never slides into sweetness. It’s balanced with an herbal hop, driving to the perfect bitter finish. That bitterness builds a bit higher than one might like for the style, but it works well here. Nice, round, smooth flavor—bright, moderately sweet malt, fully married to a pleasant, gentle, herbal bitterness. Elegant, with some pleasant sweetness and heft. Nicely done.”

What our editors thought

“Fragrant toasty floral and bready nose jumps from the glass with authority. The sip softens a bit, with a gently rolling and slightly sweet but structured bready caramel-malt note that slowly resolves into a deft and understated but equally captivating German-hop floral finish.”
