Rockwell Beer Company Velour Tracksuit

What the brewers say

“American IPA with Strata, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops.”

What our panel thought

“Watermelon, mango, cantaloupe hop nose, with citrus and pine. Bitter, but very complex and fruity. Herbal bitterness is ever-present but not harsh. Soft, well-rounded malt presence. A bouquet of flavor hops, from pine to grapefruit to pink lemonade. Off-dry finish. Impression that someone expertly blended an East and West Coast IPA together.”

What our editors thought

“Musty citrus nose, overripe pineapple, funky but endearing. Dry, zesty sip with a citrus zing but just a bit of bitterness—balances on the lower end of intensity.”

Green Cheek Beer Company Swim Test

“Dank herbal tea aroma with sweet orange, cardamom, mango, papaya. Flavor profile is a three-way battle among spicy alcohol, a syrupy malt sweetness, and a green, tropical, white-grape hoppiness. Substantial hop bitterness helps pull it all together.”

Flying Embers Cherry Hibiscus Lime

“In the aroma, strawberry, pineapple, limeade, cherry. Cherry, lime, and raspberry in the flavor—tastes like a Sonic cherry limeade. Equally sweet and tart with a ginger-like spice to accentuate the tartness. The acid and fruit tannins create a drying effect and keep it drinkable.”

Rockwell Beer Company Byrd Up!

Almost clear; persistent head. Big, sweet malt-and-fruit aroma—pink lemonade and a hint of dank. Flavor brings grapefruit-orange interplay, pleasant tangerine, sharp malt, with a nice middle hit of bitterness; rye adds complexity. Balance leans sweet.
