What the brewers say

“Smooth and malty with a clean finish, this is our tribute to the German tradition.”

What our panel thought

“Rich bready malt, with light hint of spice. The flavor is appropriately malty, but the finish is crisp and dry. The bitterness is a touch assertive, lasting into the finish, with a fruity ester. Leans a bit sweet, going a bit drier in the finish, with a slightly rough, earthy-herbal bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Toasty almond and marzipan notes on the nose lead to a slightly loose sip with a bit of carbonic bite in the front that quickly fades into a pleasant but unremarkable body.”

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Otra Vez

“Crystal-clear golden pour with pillowy white head. Floral lime and lime-zest aroma dominates. Strong margarita theme. Lime carries subtle sweetness over balanced lactic acidity. Nice salt undercurrent. Very drinkable, refreshing—a great post-workout beer.”

Lakefront Brewery Inc Oktoberfest

“A toasty malt aroma leads to a deeper malt flavor, with toffee, light raisin, and a hint of roasted marshmallow. Compelling aroma, with floral accents, wildflower honey. The finish is relatively dry, with almost a hint of roast along with a light brush of earthy hops.”

Starr Hill Brewery LLC Ramble On Juicy IPA

“Citrus, banana, mango, and guava up front in the aroma, with pine in the background. Taste combines bitter and fruity flavors balanced with malt sweetness and a pungent sweet, sticky, resiny hops element. Definitely on the sweeter side, but really well executed.”
