Weihenstephaner Pilsner

What the brewers say

“Golden-yellow and bright Weihenstephaner Pilsner has a distinctive hop aroma, finishing clean with ample bitterness. This combination provides a uniquely hoppy Pilsner, which is enjoyable to a wide variety of beer drinkers. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.”

What our panel thought

“Super sexy-looking in the glass. Opens with an herbal, almost ganja-like hop character, followed by sweet bready malt and pleasant sulfur notes. Lager-sulfur and bready malt meld with hops in the flavor. Bitterness is a bit low, but easy drinking. Just an absolutely crushable pilsner that any craft-beer novice would have zero problem approaching.”

What our editors thought

“Crisp, integrated, floral nose. The flavor is bright and light with a balanced bitter backbone and effervescent carbonation. Simple, yet thorough. Accomplished.”
