Squatters Pub Brewery Brilliant Bier

What the brewers say

“Classic light-bodied German-style pilsner with sweet malt, Noble German hops that offer a spicy and floral aroma, and a bright flavor.”

What our panel thought

“Easy drinking at the expense of malt character. Lemongrass-like hops are most prominent. Not too sweet, not super dry. Very clean. If this beer had a bigger malt presence up front, it would be unstoppable.”

What our editors thought

“Linen and white rose soften the Noble nose, giving it thoughtful definition. Light, refreshing body, with straightforward malt and a soft bitterness that feels understated in its simplicity.”

The Lost Abbey Noble Tendencies

Bright, pale gold with good lace. Pleasant, floral nose; earthy-spicy hops meld with clean, sweet, vanilla-like malt. Perfumey. Flavor is malty up front—soft, sweetish, easygoing—with gentle bitterness that is part of the whole. Medium-dry finish. Aromatic, soft, helles-like. Sweet malt and spicy hops linger. Nice beer.

pFriem Family Brewers Pilsner

“Brilliant hoppy nose; herbal profile shines brightly through, with subtle bready malt and flinty notes. Firm bitterness. Has a nice bite that lingers past the finish. Fermentation clean and well-done.”

Genesee Brewing Honey Brown

Rich honey aroma, light grainy malt, subtle floral hops. Beautiful, straw colored, and crystal-clear. Easy-drinking flavor: fruity honey, light acidity, low hop-bitterness. Berry-soda-like flavor. Sweetness lingers.
