Our one-of-a-kind gueuze is a tradition-inspired blend of one-, two-, and three-year-old lambic-style ales.

What our panel thought

Aroma of black pepper, peach, mild acid, light mango, orange, and light herbal/celery note. In the flavor, acidity isn't quite harsh—rises and fades with light sweetness throughout. Mild herbal funk. Light notes of cinnamon, mango, kumquat. Good drinkability. Interesting spicy/herbal complexity.

What our editors thought

Musty cellar and tangerine on the nose—compelling contrast, with a touch of petrichor. Sneaky sip with low acid, minimal bitterness, and gradually building lactic pucker. Simple, lightly funky, easy to drink. Satisfying levels to savor.

Area Two Experimental Brewing Black Raspberry Lambic

Bold cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and black currant aromatics with oaky vanilla undertones. A bit of funk and acetic complement. Vibrant, jammy blackberry in the flavor lingers through to the finish, with a bold acidity, soft tartness, light dryness, and tannic complexity reminiscent of a bold cabernet.

The Veil Brewing Company Culminate

Nose of stone fruit, mango, and guava, with leather, earth, and barnyard. Funk-forward flavor with peach, lemongrass, hay, and a slightly bitter leathery note carrying into the finish. Smooth acidity draws citrus and tropical fruit across the palate; a touch of sweetness helps to balance it. Nice complexity. Lovely nose provides insight into what's coming. Very nice beer.

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday. She first created a mimosa-inspired golden sour called “Dominga: Goddess of Brunch.” Now we are excited to introduce the cocktail-inspired version, Dominga Grapefruit Paloma. Firestone Walker Parabola ’24

Parabola is always a beast of a beer, with intense flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla, and roast coffee—yet each annual release also bears its own subtle imprint.
