MadTree Brewing Entropic Theory

What the brewers say

"Huge aromas of orange, peach, and apricot. ...Smooth bitterness and soft mouthfeel as it delivers tropical-fruit flavors."

What our panel thought

"Pine-tree-forest hops, orange-grapefruit punch, tropical hints, bright tomato. Flavor leans sweet; well-balanced malt accentuates juicy hops, ducking bitterness until a softly resinous, crisp, clean, dry-enough finish. Wanting the aroma to say more, but there is an addictive quality."

What our editors thought

"Bit of oaky stone fruit with a vanilla touch on the nose. Sip brings out some herbal-spicy bitterness to weigh against stone-fruit sweetness. Refined, smooth, lively, energetic."

West Sixth Hop Static Channel 2

Mellow aroma, pleasantly familiar: grapefruit, pine resin, light dollop of dank, doughy-sweet malt. Flavor runs sweet, threatening to overpower zesty hops—but also cushioning high bitterness with a comfy malt blanket. Aftertaste continues the malt-and-resin interplay. Refined choices about where to be unrefined.

WeldWerks Double Guava Milkshake

Deep orange color with chunks. Distinctive guava nose with vanilla. Balanced mouthfeel between the lactose and fruit while allowing the base beer to show itself. Sweet by design, but restrained.

Station 26 Brewing Co. Juicy Banger IPA

__Aroma:__ “Dry and bitter pith (lemon, orange, grapefruit). Substantial pine notes play a supporting role. Clean and citrusy. Dank and skunky—not quite college dorm room. Strong hops aroma, mild caramel/toasty malt, some tropical fruit (pineapple, mango).” __Flavor:__ “Dank, resinous flavor, nice and strong, plus a rich citrus complexity. Slides smoothly into a rich bitterness. Moderately strong malt but still subservient to the hops. Clean, smooth bitter finish, with medium sweetness. Spicy notes, too, from the hops: oregano mostly. Tropical fruit.” __Overall:__ “There were nice citrus notes with some hops complexity. The bitterness was balanced to the beer and not overpowering. Stands out late in the tasting.”
