MadTree Brewing Ziegler

What the brewers say

“Rich, toasty, and bready maltiness that drinks clean and smooth. Full-flavored but light.”

What our panel thought

“Rich malty flavor melds toffee, nutty grain, and a hint of molasses, grounded with an herbal hop flavor and a firm, but understated bitterness. The finish is dry, letting the malt give way to the hops. A nice touch of darkness like the Schwarzwald (Black) Forest.”

What our editors thought

“Toasted-peanut note on the nose leads into more nuttiness in the sip. Wide bodied and full, but a light and crisp bitterness keeps it grounded.”

MadTree Brewing Legendary Lager

Brilliantly clear; tight, fluffy white head. Delicate aroma—notes of bread crust, flowery hop, chamomile, pine, and light but pure malt sweetness. Firm but refreshing bitterness plays well with malty sweetness; round flavor. Elegant, spritzy, structured. Leans dry and bitter. Begs another sip.

MadTree Brewing Entropic Theory

Pine-tree-forest hops, orange-grapefruit punch, tropical hints, bright tomato. Flavor leans sweet; well-balanced malt accentuates juicy hops, ducking bitterness until a softly resinous, crisp, clean, dry-enough finish. Wanting the aroma to say more, but there is an addictive quality.

August Schell Brewing Keller Pils

“Orange, grapefruit, Citra-like hops on the nose; pleasant, like a juicy pale or session NEIPA. Restrained bitterness, great juicy citrus flavors throughout. Fairly dry finish. Doesn’t let the hops overwhelm. Good alternative to an IPA; less work on the palate but still a ton of flavor.”
