Von Ebert Brewing Wolf Summoner

What the brewers say

"Hopped with Rakau, Galaxy, and El Dorado to give strong notes of tropical fruit."

What our panel thought

"Prominent aroma: lime zest, Orange Julius, pineapple, mango, floral notes, lemons, and light bready malt. Flavor continues citrus-hops focus—oranges, lime zest, floral, peppery—moderately sweet on smooth, creamy body, then bitterness kicks in."

What our editors thought

"Light, clean, tropical nose—lychee and guava. The sip threads the tight space between West Coast bitterness and East Coast fruit with tremendous aplomb, both crisp and bitter, light and fruity, without sacrificing either."

Von Ebert Brewing Islands in the Stream

“Tropical soap perfume—papaya, melon, dried peach, and strawberry—meld with pepper and clove spice. The malt sweetness carries pleasantly complex hop notes that combine hints of old-school Noble character with a fun tropical twist. There’s just enough phenolic spice to round things out, and the dry finish is a pleasant palate cleanser.”

Von Ebert Brewing Bohemian Dark Lager

An inviting blend of roasted and chocolate malt with floral and minty hops creates a complex and interesting nose of chocolate, light coffee, and treacle and flavor sporting traces of raisin, pumpernickel, and toast. Some pleasant perfume-like hop bitterness balances things out. Finishes clean and crisp for an easy-drinking, medium-bodied beer.

Transient Artisanal Ales Zero Discipline

__Aroma:__ “Pleasant fruit character, with notes of a mango, pineapple, peach, and strawberry with a touch of chalky candy sweetness similar to Smarties. Some subtle sweet bready malt notes.” __Flavor:__ “Big fruit cocktail: tangerine, lemon, cherry, banana, peach, pineapple, mango. It’s hard to separate the hops from the fermentation esters. Some spicy black pepper notes. A light touch of alcohol warming toward the end of the sip. Smooth bitterness. Medium sweetness.” __Overall:__ “I really like the fermentation character along with the wild hops flavor. The peppery notes are especially nice. Very little bitterness and moderate fruity juice of orange, mango, and peach. Heavy body with light carbonation and light alcohol warming in the end.”
