What the brewers say

"A balanced tartness from the stone fruit and wild cultures mingles with an oaky character to produce... lambic-style funk notes."

What our panel thought

"Lots of fresh peach flavor with a tartness level that pushes the antacid-necessary level, but it's not huge. This has a wonderful wheat malt backbone that pops up at the end to say 'happy birthday' in your mouth."

What our editors thought

"A rich candied peach nose is braced by an immediate and present, but characterful, peach flavor and a burnt brown-sugar base. The strong malt supports the intense fruit character."

Area Two Experimental Brewing Gueuze

Aroma of black pepper, peach, mild acid, light mango, orange, and light herbal/celery note. In the flavor, acidity isn't quite harsh—rises and fades with light sweetness throughout. Mild herbal funk. Light notes of cinnamon, mango, kumquat. Good drinkability. Interesting spicy/herbal complexity.

3 Fonteinen Homage Blend No. 110, Season 18/19

“Raspberry and cranberry-like aromas with sourdough bread and leathery funk. Bold sour raspberry slowly fades into a mouthcoating funk with hints of leather, smoke, and a light oaky tannin.”

Highland Park Brewery Infinitefinite

“Oaky highlights support whiskey and roast in the aroma. Then light coffee, chocolate followed by raisin, black currant. Loads of espresso, dark chocolate on the sip while sweetness and oaky vanilla lend a decadent dessert-like quality.”
