Amalgam Landscapes (Orchard Blend)

What the brewers say

"Blend of golden sours aged on Colorado-grown Red Globe Peaches and Ovation Nectarines."

What our panel thought

"Peachy, pink lemonade nose jumps right out and invites you in for more. A perfumy, barnyard-like flavor follows. Tartness rises to a high level of enjoyment before quickly disappearing."

What our editors thought

"Funky, sulfury, petrichor, peachy nose. On the palate, a mineral spiciness provides structure for a non-sweet peach-jam flavor that's intensely fruit-forward. Young, it sacrifices Brett funk at the altar of fruit—let it age, then enjoy."

Amalgam Brewing Blushing Star

“Big ripe peach aroma. Flavor follows up with substantial ripe peach plus a big lactic sourness and low funk. Slight grainy malt. The finish is quite fruity with exaggerated sweet peach notes.”

Black Project OXCART (2018)

Subtle and restrained funkiness on the nose with notes of leather, oak, lemon, peach, and horse blanket. This is paired with a soft grainy malt body and slightly tart finish. Refreshing and crisp with delicate fermentation notes. Really well-done.

Epic Brewing Oak and Orchard Blueberry, Boysenberry & Black Currant

__Aroma:__ “Boysenberry and blueberry up front, with a fair amount of isoamyl acetate and banana. Light Band-Aid and spiciness, with barnyard, hay, and earthiness from the funk. Wood brings some depth, and the fruits are dark, deep, and indistinct.” __Flavor:__ “Fruit-flavor layers on top, bringing in flavors of boysenberry, blackberry, and bananas. With the high acidity and sourness, the effect is almost wine-like. Funky and earthy, with spices, esters, and a touch of malt sweetness. A dry finish, with a nice lingering note of currant in the aftertaste.” __Overall:__ “Really enjoyable balance of the fruit and esters, with an acidity that’s present without being overpowering. The *Brett* funk adds complexity, and the woody notes and dark fruity add the deeper base notes. It’s sweet without being too sweet, and the experience is wonderful all around.”
