Hacienda Beer Co. Insatiable Dreams Strawberry

What the brewers say

"A blend of foeder- and barrel-fermented mixed-culture saison refermented on... strawberries."

What our panel thought

"Distinct strawberry in nose, hints of barnyard and armpit. Fruit character shifts to sour red wine on first sip; aggressive tartness, followed by Brett, wood, earth. Bracing finish, missing brighter fruit to balance wilder fermentation character."

What our editors thought

"Plastic, rubbery nose deflates the pleasure of strawberry. The sip is better, with earthy strawberry and light acidity, but the burden of the rubbery nose is too much to overcome."

Highland Park Brewery Philosophy Of Love: Ancient Cypress

“Very light bready aroma and flavor are enhanced with moderate lemony notes and a resiny wood character. Moderate lemon zest and lime notes with juniper-like conifer. Fun ingredients that blend into something greater.”

Wooden Robot Saison de Peche

Low sulfur, light minerality in nose; notes of white grape, pear, herbs. Bright, tart acidity in flavor; a touch toward vinegar. Malt sweetness of biscuit and wheat in finish, but acidity trails quite a while, building.

Yeast of Eden Oodelallie (2018)

Oaky, earthy, wine-like nose marries with raspberry, blackberry, cherry, and mint. Fruit integrates well with barnyard leather, hay, subtle lemongrass. Pronounced citric acidity, not easy to drink; earthy berry-like flavors arrive late. Cucumber note in dry finish.
