Russian River Brewing Happy Hops

What the brewers say

"Tropical, berries, citrus, fruity."

What our panel thought

"High New World hop aroma—pleasant, if one-note, orange candy, pith—with low resin note as it warms. Quite sweet up front—bread-crust malt, fruit tang—rolling right into dry and bitter. Lacks a juicy middle. Bitter finish lingers. Sweet then harsh, with a lovely nose."

What our editors thought

"Light, but distinct, passion fruit and pineapple on the nose. Flavor loses some of that definition, as big, tropical herbal-bitterness quickly overpowers more delicate fruit notes."

Omission Bright Eyed IPA

“Light Earl Grey tea and wort aroma. The hop aroma is a bit muted, but the flavor delivers the hops and has a medium level of supporting bitterness. Clean and refreshing with medium-high carbonation and a semidry finish.”

MadTree Brewing Brunch So Hard

Pretty pink color. Generic red fruit up front in the aroma. It comes across a bit like raspberry. Lemon comes through a bit more in the flavor. There’s slight sour in the finish as well from the hibiscus. Medium light body and dry finish.

Squatters Hop Rising Tropical DIPA

Pleasant nose: candied citrus peel, lemon pith, floral notes. Tropical candied-fruit flavor, orange-juicy, a bit tangy, on a sweet caramel bed; gentle bitterness takes a back seat. Leans sweet in the finish, zest lingering. Finds some balance in citrus tang and soft cocktail warmth. Delicious. Perilous.
