Funk Factory Geuzeria Harvest Sun

What the brewers say

"A blend of Chardonnay Cervino, spontaneous beer, and second-use peaches for a white sangria vibe."

What our panel thought

"Soft nose with delicate notes of pepper, peach, and white grape. Bright, lively body with droplets of peach layered on top of vanilla, light grape, and a rustic barnyard base. More grape on the finish, with some lingering pepper."

What our editors thought

"Chardonnay grape and pawpaw fruit on the nose is sharp but creamy. Peach pulls forward in the flavor with a midline acidity that pushes the contrast."

Funk Factory Geuzeria The Last Four Winters...

Citrus and light berry esters, layered atop fresh-mown hay; inviting aromas that build anticipation. Whiffs of lemon, orange peel, vanilla, and touch of funk. Taste is more funky and tart than aroma suggests; sharp, earthy.

TRVE Brewing Co. Meditation is the Practice of Death

Rich fruit character, though not distinctly cherry; also Brett, wood, and earth. Lack of head suggests wine. Oak character adds pleasant light spiciness, with fruit fermentation esters; tart, with berry notes. Subtle yet complex.

Perennial Artisan Ales Funky Wit Apricot

A phalanx of fruit-forward aromas on top of a soft musty cheese on top of pepper, sourdough bread, red grapes, and a pronounced barnyard Brett funk. Deep, complex mouthfeel with oak, vanilla, pepper, apricot, citrus, prickly pear, grapes, and spicy Brett notes. Too sharp in the finish compared with the expectation the aroma sets up.
