Calusa Brewing It’s You, Not Me

What the brewers say

Citrusy, floral, lime-zesty electric neon zaps. Double dry-hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Idaho 7.

What our panel thought

Slightly pungent orange-lime with a bit of black-pepper spice. The flavor amps up the same combo coupled with a bit of bready malt. The spiciness and simpler hops character pulls it out of the classic NEIPA zone, but still a nice glass of rich hops flavor.

What our editors thought

Fruity with a slightly sharper edge than most, thanks to a sweaty lime note that rides up the side of the aroma. The sip is soft lime, a touch of sweet orange, a sprinkle of lemon juice, and a bit of kiwi. Any bitter-ness feels seamless with the overall fruit character.

Jagged Mountain Brewery Texas Suitcase

“Subdued aroma of mild orange peel, soft pine resin, guava, light pilsner malt sweetness. The flavor continues the same trajectory with biscuit and pie crust, black pepper, anise, grapefruit peel, light resin, and grass. Malt sweetness helps showcase bitterness in the finish.”

Pinthouse Brewing Tommy Try Mosaic

“Orange peel, tangerine, light pine and grass, papaya, pineapple on the nose. Hop flavor dominates with orange/lemon peel, tangerine, light lime zest, hints of pine, black pepper. Firm bitterness.”

Ballast Point Brewing Co. Citrus Cove Gose

“Lovely citrus-peel aroma of grapefruit, lime, and orange peel. A touch pithy in flavor, with some light black pepper, lime, and more citrus notes. Acidity well-balanced, with high drinkability. Finishes clean with some light pith. Very light minerality. Finishes with a tad too much salt.”
