Outer Range Brewing Sibirica

What the brewers say

This smooth DIPA brewed with Barbe Rouge and Nelson Sauvin hops drinks like a French white wine with subtle notes of honeydew and white peach.

What our panel thought

Fruity and earthy, some spicy notes. Overripe pineapple and tropical notes. Low clean malt sweetness in background. Pleasant tropical notes as beer sits. Smooth pineapple and peach flavors from initial sip to finish. Hops bitterness medium, smooth, does not linger into finish. Finishes clean, lightly fruity.

What our editors thought

Malborough Sauv Blanc notes of pear, guava, lychee, and kiwi push hard through the nose while the refined body and soft malt character thoroughly bury any hint of heat or strength. Finishes a bit sweet, but immensely satisfying.

Jagged Mountain Brewery Texas Suitcase

“Subdued aroma of mild orange peel, soft pine resin, guava, light pilsner malt sweetness. The flavor continues the same trajectory with biscuit and pie crust, black pepper, anise, grapefruit peel, light resin, and grass. Malt sweetness helps showcase bitterness in the finish.”

Cerebral Brewing DDH Hollow Fang

“Aroma has a soft and velvet-like texture with oozing tropical fruit and citrus notes. Those qualities flow across the palate with an almost smoothie-like hop experience. Orange notes, leaning pineapple. Soft and delicate, if simple finish.”

Odd 13 Fairy Hopmother

__Aroma:__ “Rich, juicy hops aroma with lots of orange citrusy notes. Strong fruit aromas of mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and lemon, with some grassy notes and a touch of spice and pine.” __Flavor:__ “The hops flavors are resinous, and provide lots of fruit flavors that carry throughout the beer, showcasing each fruit: grapefruit, orange, pineapple, mango, light orange, and peach. Yeasty, bready body that’s soft and fluffy. Some earthy funkiness in the middle, with a light piney bitterness and a touch of malt in the finish.” __Overall:__ “This is a big tropical IPA with a nice neutral malt base that lets the hops shine. It’s all about the hops aroma and flavor, and the balance of sweetness and bitterness just work. A very distinctive beer.”
