Odell Brewing Mountain Standard

What the brewers say

Triple dry hopped with modern, American hops varieties, which bring hops aromas of pineapple, orange, and mango. The result is a drinkable IPA bursting with bright hops flavors, low bitterness, and a slight haze.

What our panel thought

Green CO2 burn on the nose gives way to peach, orange, and passion fruit. Rich, honey-like sweetness com-plements the esters on the retronasal. Low-moderate lingering bitterness is slightly chalky. Leans on the low-er end of haze.

What our editors thought

Bright, yet soft and unassuming—a confident and self-assured take, not afraid to balance on the lighter end of the flavor spectrum. A bit of soft tropical-fruit smoothie with a sprinkle of leek or ramps and the perfect touch of citrus sweetness to pull it all together.

Wiley Roots Brewing Co Perpetual Movement

“Fun combo of Hawaiian bread, juniper, mango, and honeydew nose. Creamy and tickles the tongue with sweet tangerines and pineapples. Well-balanced mouthfeel walks right up to the line of being sweet without crossing it.”

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company Playing with Madness

“Hop aroma leans into piney dankness but doesn’t overcommit. Strong grapefruit with light diesel and pine. Seems almost too simple initially, but really builds a lovely flavor experience throughout tasting. Soft, almost floral pink peppercorn finish. Bitterness very restrained. Dry, elegant, and flavorful finish lasts a while.”

Odell Brewing Company Prop Culture

**Aroma:** “A strong floral aroma, with an interesting blend of fruity esters. Slight green banana, peach, apples, plum, apricot, and a little honey. Earthy funk, rustic barnyard, horse blanket, and _Brett_-y characters emerge as it warms.” **Flavor:** “A mix of the floral and fruity *Brett* characters up front are quickly diminished by the more coarse, cheesy, funky notes. The spice character lingers with the flavors of over-ripe stone fruit, bananas, and a touch of citrus. Carbonation is moderate-to-low, and finishes semi-dry.” **Overall:** “Nice complexity to this beer with the floral notes and sweetness that give way to the barnyard funk. The lower carbonation leaves the flavors a bit heavy on the tongue, making the flavors very sweet.”
