Parish Brewing Rêve Coffee Stout

What the brewers say

"This silky-smooth coffee stout is created with a carefully selected blend of specialty grade estate beans from Colombia and Java."

What our panel thought

"Chocolate syrup aroma, dark-fruit coffee notes. Smooth, round body; coffee coats layers of chocolate, vanilla, cherries. Complex coffee character, ashy edges. Roast meets sweetness."

What our editors thought

"Fruity coffee notes evoke berries and solid dark chocolate. Sip is round, enveloping; a creamy hint of vanilla holds it together. Luxurious and rich despite mid-strength, with the right sweetness to blunt the roasty edges."

Two Roads Brewing Co Espressway

“Natural hazelnut coffee with brown roasted malt notes push up against low grainy cereal aromas. The bitter roast amplifies the bitterness created by the earthy and pine-like hops, with hints of coffee in the background. The finish is drying, further accentuating bitterness.”

Two Roads Brewing Espressway Coffee Stout

Fantastic, intense coffee presence—subtle, almost fruity, without vegetal or ashy character. Somewhat thin; layers of coffee and more coffee balancing an understated stout—pleasant, dry, bitter. Finishes smooth. More sweetness would help round things out.

Single Hill Brewing Company Reserve - Osa Major

“Alcoholic heat in the nose obscures hints of roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. Booze carries into the flavor, stripping away more subtle complexities. Roasty, smoky, with pleasantly malty profile.”
