Sun King Brewery Leap Year

What the brewers say

"One-year, two-years, and three-years spontaneous golden ale, aged and fermented in... oak."

What our panel thought

"Peach, lemon, wool in the nose; suggestion of lychee, white wine. A hint of funk. Acid comes on strong, puckering. High carbonation adds brightness. Definite minerality in flavor adds complexity to an otherwise fairly simple beer. Sourness is a bit overpowering."

What our editors thought

"Faint strawberry on the nose combines light juicy fruit with a touch of phenol. The sip is overly sharp, with an assertive fruity acidity that overwhelms any subtle aspects of the beer."
