Speciation Artisan Ales Laurentian: Lake Michigan

Somewhat muted aroma with stone fruit, mango, guava, lemon, and vinegar. One-dimensional, acetic flavor: mild tropical fruit, medium acidity, as chalky mineral lingers. Fairly puckering. Strong fruit character is nice. Off-putting acetic notes.

Subtle barnyard aromas of leather, hay, and horse blanket hide behind distinct raspberry, cherry, and blackberry fruit notes. There is nothing sweet left in this guy. Fruit shines through subtle funk, some low oak character. Assertive tartness. Murky.

“Pleasant lightly tart nose with some grassy hop character. Bright lemon dominates at the expense of subtle character. Hints of mushroom, musty cellar mid palate. Abrupt finish with hop bitterness.”
