Jester King Brewery 2019 SPON Three Year

What the brewers say

"A blend of 100% spontaneously fermented beer from 2018, 2017, and 2016."

What our panel thought

"Peach, apricot, light vanilla, pineapple, light Brett horse blanket, touches of earth and dust. Medium acidity, light oak in aroma and flavor, sour-musty balance."

What our editors thought

"Thai basil, rose, lemon petit four, herbal tea in the nose. Round, woody vanilla note softens the bright lemon acidity before it resolves and dries in the finish, with light tannin and soft bitterness."

Jester King Brewery Spon 3 Year Blend (2019)

Earthy, leathery Brett in the nose, with a confusing blend of roses, banana, cherry, and peach/apricot. Flavor slingshots between floral, fruity, and funky, never quite settling; gardenias and roses wrestle with berries, peaches, and leathery Brett. Earthy bitterness. Never forms a cohesive whole.

Uhl’s Brewing Co Raspricot Shleemies

“Deep pink pour. Brilliant citrus-hop nose with a soft honey note. Full body, with citrus-tropical hop juice shining all the way with a raspberry touch. Intriguing blend of hops and fruit. Pleasant acidity.”

Uhl’s Brewing Co Blackberry * Peach Fruit Compote

“Red-orange, opaque smoothie. Fruity, creamy nose with strong vanilla, evoking beach cocktails or coconut-peach pie. Flavors of tropical fruit, peach, blackberry, coconut, vanilla. Restrained sourness. Round finish. Vanilla flirts with ‘artificial.’ Noticeable warming alcohol—Malibu rum.”
