Great Divide Brewing S’mores Yeti Imperial Stout

What the brewers say

"Tastes of the classic campsite dessert blended with the rich, roasty malt flavor of Yeti Imperial Stout."

What our panel thought

"Fascinating spicy-floral nose: cinnamon Red Hots, cloves, chai, elderflower; lighter tropical fruit, coconut, vanilla. More floral spice in the flavor, balanced by coffee roast, milk chocolate, and building hop bitterness."

What our editors thought

"Curious cinnamon-chai-spice nose with vanilla and caramel; feels vaguely Himalayan. Dry cocoa surges on the sip—the pointed, bitter-chocolate rush subsides into a spicy, lingering finish, reverberating with roast and chocolate, under a smooth vanilla sheen."

Great Divide Brewing Barrel Aged Yeti

West Coast hoppy: pine, grapefruit, orange, and lemon rolled into coffee and dark chocolate. Dark malt kicks harder in flavor, with roast dialed up to 11; sweetness fades into hop and roast bitterness with alcoholic warmth. Not much barrel. Hops are nice. America!

Arizona Wilderness Brewing American Presidential Stout

“Enticing pepper aroma, chocolate notes suggest a molé complexity. The flavors are a balanced blend of cocoa on top of peppers, without much overt heat. Very approachable, with light spiciness lingering in the aftertaste.”

Great Divide Chai Yeti

Aroma: “All of the chai spices with a touch of lemon citrus. Light chocolate, pepper, and lemongrass as it starts to warm with a touch of coffee spiciness.” Flavor: “Spicy chocolate with complex roast astringency, bitter dark chocolate, light milk sweetness, and a touch of alcohol warming at the end. Light mushroom, coffee flavor in the middle of the sip that blends well with the chai spiciness. Well balanced alcohol warming toward the end of the sip that leads in the aftertaste. Finish is chocolate, coffee, and tea spiciness.” Overall: “As enigmatic as the spectrum of chai is, you might hesitate to dive in to an unknown chai beer. This one is worth the risk.”
