There are currently fifteen candidates running for three open seats on the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Governing Committee, and active members are encouraged to vote before the March 31, 2019, deadline.
The committee serves in an advisory role to the staff of the AHA as well as the Brewers Association (BA) Board of Directors. The committee members are charged with shaping the policies and activities on behalf of AHA members. They are also responsible for appointing two members as designates to the BA board.
The three members whose term expires in May are Fred Bonjour, Denny Conn, and Chris P. Frey, who is currently a BA board designate. Conn, of Noti, Oregon, is running for re-election. The fourteen other candidates are:

Greg Burt of Wrentham, Massachusetts
Colin Burton of Dexter, Michigan

Each member of the Governing Committee is elected to serve a three-year term or will serve until they are recalled or resign.
The committee has several important subcommittees that help keep the AHA on track and moving forward in a positive way for all its members. These include club support; competition (such as the National Homebrewers Conference); content and resources, which provides support to homebrewing publications; diversity; government affairs; industry; international; the Radegast Club of the Year Award; and surveys and communication.
Each member is allowed to submit only one ballot, and all ballots must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on March 31, 2019.
