Boxpop Joins the Party at Revelry Yards

The Situation:

The contemporary brewpub Revelry Yards slots into the eclectic, collegiate scene of Ithaca, New York. Situated on the backside of trendy Restaurant Row, Revelry boasts an expansive patio known simply as “the Yards.” This lengthy concrete courtyard had obvious potential to become an optimal hangout space ... but how to shape it?

The Solution:

In need of a functional, modular-construction bar that settled into the casual air of the back patio, Revelry Yards contacted BoxPop for an ideal solution. They chose a standard 20-foot single container as the best template for the project. Aiming to capitalize on available space while serving customers at every opportunity, BoxPop installed large bay windows with wooden flip-up bar tops on each side of the container—complete with lift-assisted awnings that could be closed and secured each evening. Outfitted with refrigerators, drink coolers, kitchen hardware—and all of it completely wired and plumbed—this self-sufficient container bar was the perfect addition to the Yards atmosphere.

Now the space is alive with relaxed vibes and in-house craft beer, playing host to outsized tabletop games such as massive Connect Four, giant Jenga, and the omnipresent cornhole (or “bags” depending on where you hail from).

The Impact:

Featuring 12 beers on tap and offering additional bar-side seating along the broadsides of the container, this standalone bar has become a popular fixture for Revelry Yards patrons. The BoxPop unit has significantly increased Revelry Yards’ outdoor patio space for events and nearly doubled their serving capacity.
