What it is: On Maui’s picturesque South Shore, with views of the Pacific Ocean and the islands of Lanai and Kahoolawe in the distance, this laid-back pub is in the Shops at Wailea. Just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and its popular resort hotels, The Pint & Cork is unique on Maui for its devotion to local beers.

Why it’s great: Its 16 taps have a heavy focus on breweries such as Maui, Mahalo, and Koholā—the last burned down in the August 2023 Lahaina wildfires, but its brand continues while they rebuild—plus other independents from across the state. Within its dark yet cool and cozy interior, you can take a break from the tropical sunshine and heat, and possibly catch a game—or you can sit outside under shady trees. A full range of wines and classic cocktails is available, but the real draw is the food: fresh, locally sourced produce accompanies all the dishes. The extensive international fusion options feature fresh-caught fish poke and ceviche, deviled eggs Rockefeller, burgers, cheesesteaks, fish tacos, steaks, and noodle bowls.
