What the brewers say

Fermented... in Willett rye whiskey barrels. Conditioned on Italian plums and dark sour cherries."

What our panel thought

"Solid aroma of sour cherry, light leathery funk and oak tannins, low caramel and toast malt, light oaky vanilla with moderate balanced acidity. Mild cheesy notes. Off-dry in finish, cherry and funky notes linger."

What our editors thought

"Sweet bourbon and aged ester character—raisin and fig—make for an earthy and grounded nose. The sip is umami-rich with dried stone fruit, sharp acidity, prune and fig, and a bitter and tannic half note that surges mid-sip."
