American Solera Squad Up

What the brewers say

“Dry-hopped with Citra, Strata, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka.”

What our panel thought

“Powerhouse aroma of white bordeaux, mango, apricot, peach, salty melon, sagebrush. Lighter-bodied with a little alcohol warmth. Lemon hops, faint cracker malt, slight peppery finish. Soft, pillowy malt with a substantial bitterness. A bit of hop dank and tropical fruitiness blend together for complexity.”

What our editors thought

“Light honey, subtle peach, and just a bit of lemon zest in the aroma. Fresh herbal-bitter burst in the sip quickly resolves into general semisweet green tropical fruit.”

American Solera Old Friend - Year 7

“Pleasant aroma, driven by soft lemony and floral notes, underpinned by a bit of light multigrain cracker. Soft tartness defines the flavor, with some white-wine impressions. A lingering bitterness, and a spiky bit of alcoholic warmth. Finish is dry and clean. Soft malt character.”

American Solera I Wanna Talk About Mosaic

“Peppery tropical-fruit salad, melon, citrus, and pine say, ‘Drink me.’ Dank, earthy, and a bit vegetal in the aroma, with some subtle hints of garlic and chives. Sweet malt supports the peach and strawberry notes dancing in the background, while the soft bitterness blurs the line between juicy and West Coast.”

American Solera DIPA IS FUN

“Subdued lemon-herbal aroma; bready cracker malt and light mango-tropical hops. Citrus-herbal flavor; smooth, distinct bitterness, moderately low sweetness. Body seems a little thin, light. My impression is more pale ale than IPA. Balance is a bit odd.”
