KC Bier Co. Pils

What the brewers say

“Pils is a Northern German–style Pilsner with a slightly dry body, clean malt character, assertive delicate bitterness, and spicy noble hops aroma.”

What our panel thought

Aroma: “Biscuit malt sweetness with a nice blend of floral hops. Slight citrus on the back. Clean and crisp.”

Flavor: “Light bodied with a dry malt husk-like sweetness. Cracker-like. Some floral and spicy notes come from the hops and bring some bitterness to the taste, but it’s not overpowering. Well-balanced with a dry and slightly bitter finish.”

Overall: “Well-crafted version of the style with enough noble hops presence to cut through a subtle malt complexity.”

KC Bier Co. Maibock

“Grainy sweet flavor with caramel and hints of floral and herbal hops that improve with warmth. Light apricot malt ester. Despite the present bitterness, surprisingly little hop flavor. Hard to believe a maibock could be too malty, but here it is.”

KC Bier Co. Bier Co Light

“Sweet nose of corn, herbal hops; bready, even a little doughy. Bright, clean maltiness with corn-sweet notes but without residual sugar. Nicely balanced by faintly herbal hops, floral sweetness. A bit of hop bitterness pulls it together with a playful herbal hint.”

KC Bier Co. Hefeweizen

“Aroma has the expected hefe notes with an unexpected element of tobacco. Fruity esters are assertive, with a tart citrus and wheat background. High carbonation keeps it refreshing, with a lingering sweetness.”
