Grand Teton Brewing Black Cauldron

What the brewers say

"Brewed with plenty of caramel and roasted malts and subtly spiced with ... hops."

What our panel thought

"Confectionery chocolate, ashy roast, burnt-bread aroma; cherry and pear esters. Burnt-roast flavor, assertive esters; evident alcohols cut through, but not overly hot. Sticky aftertaste of vodka-soaked cherries. Sweet finish doesn’t hinder drinkability."

What our editors thought

"Dark- and milk-chocolate nose; caramel and toasted-bread touches. Initial sip is well-rounded, gentle—roast bitterness stirred into semisweet chocolate glaze with citrus hints, finishing with a fruity dark-chocolate note."
