The Bruery Black Tuesday Grand Reserve
What the brewers say
"Triple barrel-aged imperial stout."
What our panel thought
"Big booze up front—pretty much just smells like whiskey—with underlying caramel and cola. More like top-shelf rum and coke—we’re pretty far outside the beer arena. Fairly sweet up front; dries out some and burns in the finish. Pour in a snifter and enjoy slowly."
What our editors thought
"Sharp oak-tannin and leather nose; pronounced ethanol burn. The sip is intensely alcohol-forward, with burnt sugar and dark caramel notes. Pervasive alcohol heat."
