What the brewers say

"Massive amounts of roasted barley and chocolate malts were combined with three types of caramel malts for a rich, full mouth feel. Chinook, Cascade and Sterling hops lend a balanced bitterness and subtle hop flavor to this brew that’s as black as the vacuum of space."

What our panel thought

“The usual stout signposts: roast malt, coffee, and cocoa. Very drinkable, with some rich malty character. Body seems a bit thin. Alcohol aroma is evident! Boozy, nice balancing hop bitterness. Medium body makes this beer dangerously drinkable.”

What our editors thought

“Hefty blue-ish tone, cool and detached, with a big dose of earthy hops. The flavor balances that tight hop bitterness with a very smooth roast. Body is a touch thin by modern standards, but it adds to the overall drinkability. Punchy and flavorful.”
