Funk Factory Geuzeria Foeder Saison: Vintage Hallertau

Find this brewery:

What the brewers say

Foeder-fermented saison dry hopped with aged whole-leaf Hallertau hops from the 2014 harvest season.

What our panel thought

Fascinating aroma: juicy white grape, drier red wine, phenolic spice, cellar-floor funk. Flavor joins light bread and stone fruit with funk and spice. Moderate acidity draws the juicy impression over light, dusty bitterness. Dry, delicate, funky, complex—a wallflower with a lot to say.

What our editors thought

Cacophonous but intriguing nose—jagged pineapple and lime cross paths with spicy herb and funk. Likewise, the sip is endearingly off-kilter, as soft lime sherbet, gentle herbal spice, and pineapple highlights dominate the sip. Up and down, it’s a wild ride.
