Gold Dot Blue Label Dark Lager

What the brewers say

“A glass of Munich malt.”

What our panel thought

“Rich dates, toasted bread, and toffee-malt up front; sweet bread pudding with lingering toasted bread. Malt character is generic crackery-pilsner, without the rich bready and toasty character. Faint hop bitterness slightly restrains the toffee sweetness. Crisp and dry, with lively carbonation.”

What our editors thought

“Warm bready malt and cool herbal notes offer a dynamic aroma. The sip feels bigger than it is, as the initial toasty fullness quickly resolves into a light, herbal structure that (thankfully) never hits as ‘bitter.’”
