East Brother Beer Gold IPA

What the brewers say

"An American hoppy IPA with a bright nose, distinctive texture—bold on the palate, dry finish."

What our panel thought

"Bready-toasty malt nose, low tropical hops—black tea and grapefruit. Pleasant, balanced flavor—leaning malt-forward, with hops and bitterness in the back seat. Balance leans sweet for mainstream appeal."

What our editors thought

"Nutty malt and earthy-spicy hops on the nose—subtle, warm. On the sip, honey sweetness hits with tongue-coating intensity. Light herbal bitterness in the finish, stopping short of scrubbing the palate. Present alcohol, despite moderate ABV."

East Brother Beer Company Gold IPA

“A malty classic old-school take on an IPA with classic floral, citrus hop flavor. Moderately bitter with a sweet malty background. Bready and caramel flavors intermingle with American hops. The bitterness and hop flavor are the stars of the show. Finishes with a subdued bitterness that lingers.”

East Brother Beer Company Red Lager

Hints of light roast, green coffee up front with notes of dried cherry, leather. Carmel comes through with a bit of dark toasted bread on the nose. Slight prune slides in toward the end of the aroma. Drinks easily with chocolate and lots of lightly roasted coffee. Some bitterness to cut the residual sweetness.

East Brother Beer Company Bo Pils

“Bready, toasty malt drives the aroma, but still leaves room for delicate earthy hops. Light bready malt aroma. Hints of floral alcohol. Clean and simple, but lacks Czech melanoidins. Bitterness on par with the malt, though expecting it to be more assertive. Overall lightness aids with drinkability. Finishes quite dry and simple.”
