Epic Brewing Intermountain Wheat

What the brewers say

“No banana or clove in this one. Nice zest and lemon flavors and aromas from the hops balanced with slight malt sweetness.”

What our panel thought

“A pleasantly dank, piney, and slightly hops-forward wheat beer that walks the line. The distinct, wheat-forward malt backbone gives it a light and clean body in which the predominant hops characteristics can play.”

What our editors thought

“A general wheatiness underpins the nose and flavor, but an embrace of broad drinkability bypasses any distinct approach to character—it’s a wallflower.”

Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat (2018)

“Bready aroma with a light fruity note and hints of an underlying candy-like sweetness. Slightly tart, reminiscent of green apples or cider—weird for the style but not unpleasant or off-putting. The dry finish ties the beer together with a lingering toasty note and minimal bitterness.”

Epic Brewing Intermountain Wheat

“Light bready notes and hints of orange in both the aroma and the flavor. Very light hopping is mostly floral with a hint of tropical guava. Low bitterness.”

Silver City Neon Bloom

“Distinctly orange peel and tangerine tropical aromas give way to a slightly dry, crisp flavor profile with aspects of lemongrass, wheat, and coriander. Accentuating the citrus notes are hops characteristics that are equal parts grapefruit pith, orange peel, lemon, and pine. The slightly thin nature of the mouthfeel and the moderate carbonation seem to accentuate the dryness in the finish, making it crisp, but a bit watery.”
