Boulevard Brewing Company KC Pils

What the brewers say

“Like many American burgs, our town was once home to a number of small, regional breweries. As they disappeared, so too went the full-flavored but easy drinking classic American lager. Today, we salute these bygone breweries and revive their legacy with KC Pils: 100% malt, real hops character, unpasteurized. It’s the taste of tradition.”

What our panel thought

Aroma: “Light bready malt sweetness. What little hops aroma there is suggests earthy, woody notes. Clean, crisp lager character. This aroma is trying to keep its secrets.”

Flavor: “Moderate malt sweetness. Sweet corn-like character. Virtually no hops profile and very little bitterness. Finish is sweet. Could use a bit more pils character.”

Overall: “A full-flavored, refreshing pils that accentuates malt. A clean lager, easy drinking and enjoyable if somewhat one-dimensional. Finish could be be crisper.”
