What the brewers say

“Roasty coffee notes mingle with toasted bread and walnut. Sweet plum and fig flavor.”

What our panel thought

“Soft roast-malt aroma: espresso, chocolate, fruity esters. Hint of earthy hop. Rich malt flavor: toast, sweet espresso, bread crust, chocolate. Light raisin and black currant. Very clean. Finishes mostly dry. Dark-roasted malt retains residual sweetness in the finish. Restrained hop bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Husky roasted grain in the aroma with a bit of cacao nib. A touch sweet, but appropriately bitter chocolate flavor with purple-grape undertones.”
