Transient Artisan Ales O’Tay
What the brewers say
"Buckwheat saison aged in oak foeder."
What our panel thought
"Spicy nose with hints of toast, honey, lemon, white pepper; smoke phenols. Initial taste of light fruit, white wine, and citrus, but a distracting tar-like note, and more plastic phenols. Low sweetness, firm acidity. Decent carbonation; dry, slightly tannic finish. Nearly refreshing, but for the rough edges."
What our editors thought
"White pepper, faint lemon, toothy wheat, honey funk on the nose. The sip veers toward lemon-lime, with a nice, round, mellow acidity that begs for another sip."
