What the brewers say

Brewed with organic salted caramel and conditioned with fleur de sel and Madagascar vanilla. Notes of toasted vanilla, rich caramel, and delicate finishing salt.

What our panel thought

Really nice salted-caramel impression without coming across overly sweet. The vanilla adds to the rich car-amel impression mid palate, but there’s a ton of roast to dry up the finish, which works as a balancing factor. Finish is chewy, long lasting, and complex.

What our editors thought

It’s tough to achieve soft sophistication in a stout without extensive sweetness, but rich toasty caramel notes in the nose and a soft vanilla body that’s neither too bitter nor too sweet keeps the volume level down, allow-ing nuanced flavors to push forward.
