Roadmap Brewing Co Late Night Polka Party

What the brewers say

This German-style lager lets the malts shine—hints of nuttiness lead to a nice, clean, crisp finish.

What our panel thought

Bready, nutty aroma pairs with light, spicy hops, citrus, fig. Dark chocolate-malt aura hovers at the fringes. Flavor offers toasted malt, caramel, dark fruit—cherry, plum, fig—and a bittersweet-chocolate layer. Hint of acidity. Finishes fairly dry; malt lingers. Light but pleasant.

What our editors thought

Light, nutty nose is subtle, not overbearing. A touch of lingering sweetness softens the slightly round sip; a feather-light hop-bitterness brings it to a tight close. Balanced on the lightest side, for subtlety and drinkability.

Our Mutual Friend Brewing Saison Trystero

“Earthy, spicy hops on the nose with some barnyard funk underneath. Flavor is a muted medley of pepper, citrus notes. Very light mouthfeel doesn’t match what comes next—firm bitterness, light funk, a popping spiciness.”

COVA Brewing Company Aloha State of Mind

“Wonderful, warm sunset-orange color. A refreshing beer that finds a subtle balance with the hibiscus leading the passion fruit. The passion-fruit aroma is bright and enticing, translating onto the palate with delicate acidity and bold tropical-fruit flavor.”

Wheatland Spring Brewery East Crib

Inviting nose: subtle floral notes with soft, candy-like sweetness. On the palate, layered malt sweetness with light fruit, fig, jasmine tea, maybe cotton candy. Yet the finish is crisp, with grassy-spicy hop notes. Complex, balanced, enjoyable.
