What the brewers say

“Bright, citrus-forward, and gluten-reduced.”

What our panel thought

“Big grapefruit, orange, and black-pepper hop flavor. Generally carries an almost burnt quality. Like a beginner homebrewer’s IPA, the nose is hoppy but a bit muddled, leaning toward citrus, with grainy malt character exacerbating the bitter aggressive bite of the hops into the finish. It’s drinkable, but not the best nor most subtle that the brewing arts can produce.”

What our editors thought

“Heavy on the wooded-forest nose, smaller flashes of citrus linger on the margins. The sip pushes an intense bitterness that overwhelms everything around it, sacrificing subtlety and nuance.”
